Why We Partnered with Acronis
At Canadian Cloud Backup, we are experiencing a period of rapid expansion driven by a strong demand for data protection services from local, national and international companies, as well as government organisations.
Our existing backup software is popular among customers due to its user-friendly interface, however it falls short when it comes to backing up different types of devices, and more modern platforms. As technology, operating systems, and cloud environments evolve, our customers have displayed a growing need to protect not only traditional physical and virtual server environments, but also PC and Mac workstations, laptops, iOS and Android mobile devices, Azure and AWS cloud workloads, and cloud services such as Office 365. In response to this trend, we realised we needed the ability to support more modern platforms, otherwise our backup services were limited, so we pursued a new vendor that would meet the specific requirements of our customers.
In addition to these technical specifications, our new software delivers a true multi-tiered and multi-tenant architecture in support of white label functionality, so we can provide re-sellers with a complete branding solution to backup services, while maintaining control and customisation of our infrastructure. Considering these needs, Canadian Cloud Backup selected Acronis International backup technology that is specifically designed with a comprehensive, simple, complete, and cost-effective solution in mind, so service providers can produce hybrid backup and recovery solutions for customers’ data protection concerns.
Benefits of these Changes
Powered by Acronis, Canadian Cloud Backup now delivers a reliable and highly customised solution that can backup data from any source and recover it to any
destination or on any system. This ensures that we can protect our customers’ data wherever it may exist and in whatever form. With the Acronis Backup Cloud platform integrated into our existing infrastructure, this evolved solution will easily scale with the growth of our company as we meet the growing demands of new and existing clients.
Ensuring that our practices are compliant with national data privacy regulations remains a core value of Canadian Cloud Backup. We have implemented the Acronis Storage Gateway technology to retain the use of our own local datacentres’ capacity to store backups, thus ensuring that customer data never crosses national borders. Our clients have the ability to store data both locally and in our datacentres, and can utilise full encryption for all data both in-transit and at rest. The multi-tenant architecture of Acronis Backup Cloud ensures that every client’s data is completely segregated while allowing our technicians to provide support using a single web-based console if needed.
Our new Acronis technology has already proved its efficacy for a number of customers who may have suffered from data loss if they didn’t have backup systems in place. A local ophthalmology clinic lost large amounts of its clients’ records when their server crashed due to hardware failure. Since the clinic used Acronis Backup Cloud technology, their missing data was easily restored from the cloud to a different server in just a couple of hours. If a faster internet connection had been available to download the backup, or if they had taken advantage of the local storage option, the recovery would have been even faster.
Using Acronis has enabled us to better service our customers and allowed us to reach a broader spectrum of clients. It has also dramatically minimised technical issues and decreased the learning curve for both our technicians and our valued clients.
